Big Yellow Friday

Children’s Liver Disease

Friday the 4th March is the annual awareness raising and fundraising day for children’s liver disease. We were approached by a parent of one of our nursery children to see if we could fundraise for this great cause. Her child has a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia. This means the bile ducts in the liver can become inflamed or obstructed, causing serious issues with regards to digestion and malnutrition.    Biliary Atresia | Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (childliverdisease.org) So we held a Big Yellow Friday where children were invited to come into school in their bright yellow clothes. The weather on Friday was raining and gloomy, so it certainly brought sunshine into our school and highlighted a great charity for which we raised £153.50!
