Mental Health Awareness Week

On 10th of October it was world mental health awareness and I am sure many of you will have seen on social media or news channels the efforts to raise the profile of mental health.

We have also been busy in school helping children to equip themselves on how to look after their mental health and well being through Bigfoot and their Worry Wizard. This very clever worry wizard allows children to talk about their worries and the actions they can take to help their worries get better or even go away! Guided activities helped them at an age appropriate level express their emotions; including verbally, body language and facial expressions.

We shall continue to work in supporting mental health across school through the Jigsaw scheme and further visits from the Worry Wizard. Our Mental Health First Aider Kay Shaw is always available to any member of our school community, if you feel you wish to discuss any concerns at any point.
