  • RNLI Visit Year 1

    10th May 2018

    As part of their Oceans and Sea's topic, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution came to visit Year 1 to help them learn about staying safe around water, different safety flags found on our beaches and how if needed the lifeboat team can help in an emergency.

     

  • Sam's Safari in Year 2

    1st May 2018

    Year 2 had a visit from Sam's Safari to help them look at all things 'Giant'. A giant bunny, tortoise, snail and chicken who even laid us a rather large egg were some of the creatures that came to visit!

    The children loved being able to feel the different animals, find out where they originated from and learn some amazing facts.

     

  • Peter Rabbit - Imagination Library

    To introduce and celebrate Dolly Parton's imagination library, where children who are under 5 years old can receive free books, we enjoyed lots of activities around the book Peter Rabbit!

  • World Book Day

    We didn't let snow stop us from celebrating the many different characters you can encounter in a book, during the day we met Little Red Riding Hood, George with his Marvellous Medicine, Little Lambs, Dragons, Princesses, Action Heroes, Elmer, The Hungry Caterpillar, Fantastic Mr Fox and even Mickey Mouse! Just to name a few!

  • Easter Day and Hat / Egg Competition

    On Friday, along with celebrating World Book Day, we also had our Easter Day where we enjoyed Easter crafts, baking and egg hunts!

    The Easter competition was again supported by the PTFA with the prizes donated by them. They along with school council and guest judge Miss Robinson from Pheasant Bank Academy had the hard task of picking 4 winners from each year group, nursery and Little Grangers. We also had 2 overall winners for the most amazing hat and egg.

  • Easter in Little Grangers

    Little Grangers were eggstrabusy on Friday enjoying World Book Day, Easter competitions, baking Easter Cakes, having an toasted hot cross bun breakfast but also investigating who on earth had left the trial of footprints in their nursery!

     

     

  • Easter Day & World Book Day at Grange Lane

    Wow what a fabulous cram packed day!! Due to the weather our World Book day had to be cancelled but we made up for it on Friday.  Not only did our children dress up as their favourite charatcers but a massive number of children took part in our Easter Egg decorating and Easter Bonnet competitions.  A massive thank you to all our children and your adults, you did amazing.  Here's some photo's taken in our Nursery.

     

  • Science Week - Year 1

    Year one had to sort materials that were magnetic and non-magnetic and then they investigated what would happen if they added mentos to coke and wrote instructions on the process.

  • Year 1's DT Project

    Year 1 are busy making a sculpture of the Gruffalo for a ‘museum’ from Paper Mache. As you can see it is starting to take shape and over a period of sessions during the half term we should hopefully be able to show you the finished project!

     

     

  • Doncaster Rocks

    7th March 2018

    On the 7th March Doncaster School Nurses launched the ‘Doncaster Rocks’ group with the help from children from Grange Lane Infant Academy.

    The children decorated rocks ready to hide in the community not just for others to find and re-hide but also to encourage children and parents to become more active.

    The children will also be interested to find out how far a rock can actually travel! To help them do this keep a look out and if you find a hand decorated rock in or around Rossington, post a picture on the Do

  • Safer Internet Day

    Year 1 and 2 have been designing posters and having discussions about how to keep safe on the internet for Safer Internet Day 2018.







                                                                           













    We talked about what information you shouldn't share online and what to do if you feel worried about anything on the computer or tablet. We also discussed how much time is appropriate to spend on our devices.



  • Young Voices

    A huge well done to our year 2 choir for their fabulous effort and contribution to the Young Voices concert at the Sheffield arena this week.

    It is also the last time Mrs Van Steen will be taking the children as the lead choir teacher as she is taking retirement at the end of this month.

  • Parents into Breakfast Club

    15th December 2017

    On Friday 15th we invited parents to join us for breakfast in our FREE magic breakfast club!

    We appreciate how busy everyone is and we thank everyone for stopping those extra few minutes for a quick bowl of cereal or a bagel with their child before starting another busy day.

    It was also opportunity for those who wanted a taster session, to find out how the club works and what delicious healthy choices for breakfast we have available and all for FREE!

     

  • Santa!

    Thank you to the PTFA (Parents, Teachers, Friends Association) of Grange Lane Infant Academy for arranging a very special visitor for our school.

    One very cool Santa came to visit. With many ho ho ho's, loads of presents and numerous belly laughs, he made our day extra special. Santa's chief elf took photographs of all the little visitors to his grotto and will have them delivered in time for Christmas break.

  • Anti Bullying Week continued ....

    We all took part in the ‘Wear Odd Socks’ campaign for Anti-Bullying Week! We had lots of fun showing off our odd socks and the grown-ups joined in too! We talked about the importance of ‘it’s okay to be different’ and what to do if somebody makes you feel upset.

    In Reception we talked about differences and similarities in ourselves. We thought about how we could be kind to others to make them feel special and happy. We also talked about what to do if somebody was unkind to us; ignore them, walk away and tell

  • Odd Socks for Anti-Bullying

    This week is anti-bullying week and to help raise awareness we wore odd socks on Monday to show that being different is okay!

    We had long, short, stripy, fluffy, spotty, character and even donut patterned socks and every year group including Little Grangers joined in with the fun.

  • Operation Christmas Child - Non Uniform Day

    Thank you everyone for coming in non-uniform and donating towards Pastor Simpson's Operation Christmas child.
